This tool is a monthly calculator designed to help shelters plan pathways, housing, and staffing based on past or expected intakes, outcomes, and target length of stay (LOS). It aims to give a clearer view of shelter operations and make population management decisions easier, leading to a healthier, happier cat population and staff. Shelters can use the calculator to better manage their capacity for care and adoption-driven capacity. Feedback can be provided to sheltermedicine@ucdavis.edu.
